Fabric Care
Caring for Your Fabric
Fabric is precious. Follow these care tips to keep your purchase looking its best. For washable natural fibres, we recommend pre-washing before use, as slight shrinkage may occur. Always wash light and bright colours separately during the first few washes. These tips are general guidelines—if unsure, please contact us for specific advice.
Linen
A natural fibre known for its breathability, softness, and textured appearance. Linen is lightweight, durable, and becomes softer with each wash.
Washing
Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle detergent, or machine wash on a delicate cycle. Wash similar colours together to prevent bleeding. Avoid overloading the machine to reduce creasing.
Drying
Lay flat or hang to air dry. Avoid tumble drying if possible, as high heat may shrink linen. Remove from the dryer while slightly damp if you choose to tumble dry on low.
Ironing
Iron while slightly damp on a medium to high heat setting. Use a pressing cloth if needed to avoid shine. Linen naturally wrinkles, so some creasing is normal and part of its charm.
Storage
Store folded or hung in a cool, dry place. Avoid overcrowding in the wardrobe to prevent excessive creasing. Linen garments can benefit from breathable storage bags.
Sequin & Beaded Garments
Delicate embellishments on fabrics like cotton, silk, or synthetics.
Washing
Dry clean: Choose a specialist with experience in eveningwear.
Hand wash: Use lukewarm water (max 30°C) and gentle detergent. Turn inside out, swish gently, rinse well, and press water out without wringing.
Machine wash (if allowed): Inside out in a mesh bag, gentle cycle, low spin, max 30°C.
Drying
Lay flat on a towel. Never tumble dry.
Ironing
Avoid ironing directly. Use a steamer from 30 cm away or hang in a steamy bathroom.
Repair
Secure loose embellishments promptly. Seek specialist repair for large losses.
Storage
Hang on padded non-slip hangers with garment loops, or store heavy garments flat in acid-free tissue.
Satin
Smooth, lustrous fabric made from silk, polyester, or blends.
Washing
Hand wash in cool water with delicate detergent. Soak up to 30 minutes, rinse well, and press out water gently.
Drying
Lay flat on a towel, roll to remove excess water, then air dry. Avoid wringing.
Ironing
Iron inside out on low heat, no steam, using a pressing cloth.
Storage
Hang in a breathable cotton garment bag. Avoid plastic to prevent yellowing and mildew.
Polyester
Durable, easy-care synthetic fibre.
Washing
Machine wash with similar colours in cool or warm water. Use gentle detergent; add oxygen bleach for brightness if needed.
Drying
Air dry or tumble dry on medium heat.
Ironing
Low to medium heat with steam if needed. Polyester resists wrinkles but can be steamed for freshness.
Storage
Hang or fold; ensure garments are completely dry before storing.
